The Tramuto Foundation Awards Over $30,000.00 in Scholarships and Grants.
Since it was founded in 2001, the Donato J. Tramuto Foundation has provided scholarships to 25 outstanding students who faced special challenges in their quest to succeed in life. It also confers annual grants to organizations that have helped individuals or communities overcome a challenge.
This year, the Foundation Board awarded a $5,000 donation to the Frannie Peabody Center in Portland, Maine. The center is maine's largest HIV/AIDS service organization.
In addition, the board approved the continuation scholarship funding for the non-profit organization Education for All Children (EFAC), an initiative that assists promising students from Kenya attain post-secondary education. The Foundation also announced it will continue its five year commitment to Regis College, providing annual education grants. Other grants made in the last year include donations of $1000 or more to Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation (GIRF), Susan G. Komen Cancer Research Fund, St. Charles Children's Home in Rochester, NH and the York Food Bank.
