The Donato J.Tramuto Foundation

The Donato J.Tramuto Foundation works with children, families and the local community to optimize the lives of individuals who are in need of support to achieve their life goals.   The Foundation was founded in 2001 following the September 11th terrorist attacks.   Mr. Tramuto had planned to be on Flight 175 - the second plane that hit the towers, however, he changed his plans and departed for Los Angeles from Boston on the evening of September 10th.  Unfortunately, his 2 friends and their 3 year old son lost their lives on that fateful flight.

Since 2001, The Donato J.Tramuto Foundation has helped many organizations and many people through direct mentoring and financial support.  Today, there are 13 young children receiving a 4 year College Scholarship, an entire village in Cambodia has been educated in the English language, 3 families stricken by Hurricane Katrina have been helped, a sound system to help the hearing impaired has been purchased for the Ogunquit Theater, and scores of other contributions and donations have been made.

On a yearly basis, The Donato J.Tramuto Foundation  provides direct support to children in need through its Annual College Scholarship and Mentoring Program.   Additionally and following the annual May meeting of the Advisory Board, 2 special grants are approved each year in response organizations who have submitted a request for funding.  These requests must demonstrate a real need in helping either an individual or a community overcome a challenge.
